Annie’s Cottage is charming and characterful with one bedroom and exposed flint walls and beams throughout. The cottage can accommodate up to 3 guests in the bedroom with an additional portable bed which is perfect for small families. Situated on a country road, the front of the property is like an oasis, secluded from view by the cleverly placed garages to the front.
The seating area to the front of the cottage catches the sun from late morning till late afternoon, and is comfortably sheltered by the large outside wall of The Chapel. Just perfect for alfresco dining or relaxing whilst watching the wildlife. However sometimes this seating area has to be moved in early spring due to a lovely little robin who occasionally makes her nest in the letterbox next to the front door. She seems quite happy for guests to use the front door, but doesn't like sharing the letter box with postman, so he has to find somewhere else to put the letters!
The flint wall in the kitchen give it lots of character. With a granite style work surface, sink, electric hob, fan oven and grill, microwave, toaster, fridge with icebox, and a washing machine/tumble dryer, it's perfect for guests to stay as long as they like!
And not to disappoint, the sitting room has 3-foot-thick walls and deep set windows, a large inglenook fireplace incorporating an original baker's oven and beams. And for extra flexibility it also has a bed settee for additional guests.
The lovingly refurbished ground floor bathroom has a shower over the top which is remotely controlled, so you can select the temperature and pressure even before you get in. The mirror above the sink is rather large with lights all the way around, and additional mood lighting underneath. The bathroom is usefully situated between the upstairs bedroom and the downstairs sitting room, which is great if you have additional guests.
The upstairs bedroom has a romantic feel with sloping ceilings and bay windows. The king size bed with a super king size duvet and generous walk in wardrobe, gives this surprisingly large and characterful bedroom a feel of luxury. There is also a double socket with a usb port for guests to be able to re-charge their phones easily.
And finally, being able to park outside the cottage or in the spacious private courtyard, and in the summer under the lovely cool shade of the tall trees, adds to the pleasure and ease of staying in this chocolate box style cottage.
And to help you enjoy your stay, tea and coffee are provided to refresh you after your journey. But for those staying a week or more, an additional welcome pack is provided in each property. And at Christmas we even decorate the cottage before you arrive to help you enjoy that lovely Christmassy feel.
